Career Counseling & Vocational Exploration
We spend the greater part of our day at work. Therefore, it should make sense that you enjoy what you do. You should find your work gratifying and rewarding. However, if your work environment is no longer meeting your needs, if you are feeling jaded, burnt out, and tiered of the work you do, then it may be time to make a change. Through counseling we can reevaluate you work environment and work relationships. Together we can talk though what is import for you about your job. We can discuss what needs are being met through your employment and device a strategic plan to help you feel more satisfied about the work you do. If a change in industry is in order, I will help you explore other options and create a plan to help you meet your employment goals.
Vocational Evaluations
A vocational evaluation is the process for measuring a person's functional ability in relation to their vocational preparation and decision-making abilities. It is typical for a person to be evaluated using a series of tests to gain a well-rounded overview of the individual's achievement levels, interests, and abilities. Results are then gathered to create a report to outline the findings which can be used to create an individualized plan of employment, set vocational goal, and provide insight into their occupation and career potential. This assessment can also be instrumental in assisting young adults with selecting an appropriate field of study and understanding their projected employment outcomes when entering the World of Work.
Work Readiness &
Adjustment Training
These workshops are usually offered in a group setting to transition youth who are ready to exit the school setting and enter employment. Through these trainings individuals will gain a variety of skills geared to helping them attain and maintain employment. Some of the areas that will be addressed in these sessions include: interpersonal skills, daily living skills, soft skills training, conducting job searches, resume building and interview readiness.
