Rebecca Monroe

With 20 years of experience in special education and disability services, I am dedicated to supporting neurodivergent individuals and their families in achieving their academic, professional, and personal goals.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Theater with a minor in Psychology from Southwestern University and a master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. I am a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and a Licensed Professional Counseling Associate (LPC-A). My background includes working with autistic individuals, as well as those with ADHD, learning disabilities, and co-occurring mental health conditions. I have experience in both K-12 and higher education settings, providing accommodations, coaching, and advocacy to help individuals access the support they need to thrive.

My theoretical approach is integrative, drawing from neurodiversity-affirming, person-centered, and cognitive-behavioral frameworks. I emphasize strengths-based strategies that empower individuals to navigate challenges while fostering self-advocacy and independence. I believe in creating a collaborative and validating space where individuals feel understood and supported. By honoring each person’s unique way of thinking and experiencing the world, I help clients build confidence, develop effective coping strategies, and achieve meaningful personal and professional growth.Silvia Gutierrez-Leal, LPC-S, CRC, CVE
